On this date every household must be equipped with digital reception mode failing which no more television programmes will be received!
If you receive television via a rake antenna and you are equipped to receive digital television, you would be temporarily deprived of television. If you are not equipped with a digital mode of reception (DTT tuner, TV with DTT integrated, cable, satellite, ADSL…) you will no longer receive television.
Only the television transmitters broadcasting in digital mode (DTT transmitters) will be switched back on during the switch-over day if you are equipped with a digital mode of reception, if you have connected up to the mains plug, and you have properly connected up the SCART (Péritel) leads and/or plug, after having launched a search and stored all the channels in the memory once the transmitter that serves your area has been switched back on again.
What you have to do.
You must launch a search and store all the channels in the memory for all your sets connected up to a rake antenna or an internal aerial.
Why do you need to launch this channel search?
When the switch-over is made to all-digital, some DTT channels change frequency in order to improve their coverage. In order to access all your programmes, it is essential to launch a search and store all the channels in the memory. Only five minutes are required for this operation.
On the switch-over day, but do not do it too early! The transmitter that serves your area must have been switched back on. As soon as you receive some channels again, go ahead with it.
Given the malfunctions identified with some equipment, it is preferable to do this channel search between 12.30 and 1.30 p.m. or in the evening between 7 and 8.45 p.m. in order to be sure to be able to benefit from the unscrambled transmissions of Canal+.
